Eines meiner Systeme, auf denen WinXP SP3 ausgeführt wird, kann nicht mehr auf FAT- und FAT32-formatierte Laufwerke zugreifen.
Wenn ich ein USB-Flash-Laufwerk anschließe, wird es erkannt und mit einem Laufwerksbuchstaben versehen. Wenn ich jedoch versuche, darauf zuzugreifen, wird der Fehler "Datenträger nicht formatiert" angezeigt. Auf dieselben Laufwerke kann problemlos von einem anderen Computer (demselben Betriebssystem) aus zugegriffen werden.
Die Maschine hat auch aufgehört, Disketten zu lesen, auch die, die darauf formatiert wurden (natürlich können diese Disketten auf anderen Maschinen perfekt gelesen werden).
Früher hat es bis vor ein paar Monaten funktioniert (ich benutze diesen Computer nicht oft). Ich vermute, dass das Windows-Update etwas kaputt gemacht hat.
Der interessante Teil ist, dass CHKDSK und FORMAT von der Kommandozeile aus gut zu funktionieren scheinen, was DIR nicht tut. Der Explorer gibt nur einen Fehler zurück und der Datenträger-Manager sieht nur "unformatierte" Partitionen.
Beispiel für ein USB-Laufwerk (FAT32):
