Ich hatte das gleiche Problem. Der Grund ist, dass die neuen Versionen von Material Components mit diesem Fehler gebündelt sind. Also habe ich versucht, die Version im Gradle-Build-Skript durch die unterstützte Version zu ersetzen Path.op().
